Pastor DeWayne F. Davis Sr. has served as the Senior Pastor of New Morning Star M.B. Church on the Westside of Chicago for over 23 years! His encouraging and practical expository preaching and teaching are a blessing to God’s people. With over 35 years of ministry experience, he also inspires others to grow in their relationship with God through conferences, seminars, and multi-media events.

Pastor Davis is a graduate of Westinghouse High School; attended the University of Illinois (Chicago Circle) and later pursued education at Crossroads Bible College of Indianapolis, IN. He is a graduate of Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary with a B.A. Degree in Bible and Theology. He is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Counseling.

He has served in several churches throughout the years as a musician, choir director, and Youth Director. In 1989 he moved to Indianapolis, IN to serve as the Director of Urban Ministries of Central Indiana Youth for Christ. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of Urban Impact, a non-profit organization reaching out to youth through neighborhood evangelism and discipleship, in Indianapolis, IN.  In 1993 he served as Assistant Pastor at Berean Bible Church under Pastor Charles Simmons. In 1997 he planted Triumph Community of Indianapolis, IN. Four years later he returned to Chicago to serve as the Senior Pastor of New Morning Star M.B. Church in 2001. www.nmschurch.org

Born and raised on the Westside of Chicago, IL Pastor Davis has been married to his gorgeous and gracious wife 1^st Lady Vanessa for 38 years and is the father of five grown children; (3 sons & daughters). He loves spending time with his wife and family. As a singer, songwriter, and musician he enjoys all genres of music. He loves to read, watch all kinds of movies, fish, and travel.  A very jovial individual who loves comedy and just having a good time with people. Sometimes he loves to be alone refreshing, reflecting, and rejuvenating himself.
