WILL YOU ANSWER THE CALL?
Psalm 100 Rev. Collis B. Smith Jr. 10-22-23
1. THE CALL TO WORSHIP- vs.1
We are created to worship God; that is our primary purpose for living. Every product exists for a purpose determined by the manufacturer and not the product. Worship means “bend over or “bow down’ Isaiah 43:21; Psalm 98:4; Psalm 96:1-4
From Genesis to Revelations worship is a dominate theme because the God who created all things and redeemed us in Christ is worthy to receive all the honor, all the glory, and all the praise. 2 Chronicles 7:3-4; Neimiah 8:6.
2. THE CALL TO SERVE vs.2
Another group of biblical terms often translated “worship” to also mean “serve” or “service.”
The people of Israel were saved from slavery in Egypt so that they could serve the Lord. Exodus 8:1
God has given all of us spiritual gifts to employ in the body of Christ.
You and I have been summoned by God to serve in His church. Mark 10:45; John 13:3-5
3. THE CALL TO KNOW GOD vs.3
Know That The LORD He Is God – He Is LORD God Almighty
Matthew 28:18; Acts 4:12; Philippians 2:10-11
He Made Us – He Is Our Creator
Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139:13-14
And Not We Ourselves – He Is Our Owner
1 Chronicles 29:11
We Are His People – He Is Our Sovereign Ruler
Romans 14:8; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; 1 Corinthians 6:19
The Sheep Of His Pasture – He Is Our Bountiful Benefactor
John 10:27-23; Psalm 23
4. THE CALL TO GIVE GOD THANKSGIVING AND PRAISE
All of God’s people should praise the Lord for His goodness, love, and faithfulness. These benefits endure from generation to generation.
